The Summer Concerts
– a total thrill, and served to remind me just how much I love the stage, playing for real live audiences, and that incredible exchange of energy that can take place. I intend to do it all again soon – as soon as possible, in fact.
Summer Concerts “Special Thanks”:
Royal Georgian Theatre (Richmond, North Yorkshire). “The Atlantic Soul Messengers” & special guest soul-songstress Emma Wilson. The “ASM” are: Nigel Stockbridge (guitar), Tony Davison (bass), Nigel Bainbridge (drums), Paul Milsom (sax), Al Guy (trpt), Chris Moss (t’bone) Andy Brown & Heidi Richardson (vocals).
The Global Sounds Festival (London) where I gave a special performance of HeartStrings, with superb guitarist Jerry Crozier-Cole.
The Willowman Festival (Northallerton, North Yorkshire) “The New York All-Stars” – with Dave Keyes (keys), Paul Smith (drums), Neil Harland (bass) and Steve Williams (guitar).
Lima Ohio Experience “Jim Miller & Friends” – some very special friends at that! The ensemble were Jim Miller (guitars & vocals) Bill McDonald (bass), Frank Harnispheger (keys), Jack Willouby (drums), Spaz Moorhead & Ambyr Rose (vocals). Also some very inspiring performances by guitarists Jack Wilce, Rob Huston and Nicky Joe Sonye. Another important “thank you” to Sally Windle – educator extraordinaire, who arranged a most incredible afternoon with Lima’s young up-and-coming musicians. School can really rock …even in the middle of summer (!!!)
Sportsmens (Buffalo NY) “The Willie Schoellkopf Band” featuring Bob Falk (guitar), Jim Engher (keys), Mike Phelps (drums) and Steve Sadoff (bass). All winners!!
My heartfelt gratitude to all who made this summer such a special one. You know who you are – (which means I could have doubled the size of this “thank you” list, as so many cool people were instrumental in making it happen).
